What We Do
The mission of FosterKC is to restore the value and worth to children in the foster care system by providing tangible and felt needs while bringing awareness to the community.
Problem: currently foster children typically carry a trash bag from house to house as they move within the system. These disposable bags tear easily, are highly impractical, and creating an perspective of being humiliated.
Solution: FosterKC will provide high quality bags for children in the foster care system to carry their belongings in. Our hope is that through providing such a “simple” and tangible need to foster children making an easier transition when transferring homes.
How it works:
1. Partner with businesses, organizations, or people to find quality luggage. 2. Personalize it! We want our foster children to know they are cared for and create awareness for the need of quality foster parents. This is done through workshops, like a paint and sip style. 3. Establishing partnerships with foster care agencies to circulate bags to foster kids in Kansas City.
